How to modify holds in Held or Shipped status

  1. Cancel Held Holds
  2. Missing Held Holds - updated 2023
  3. Change Pickup Branch for Held Holds

  6. Change Pickup Branch for Shipped Holds
     

1. Cancel Held Holds:

  • Obtain the item barcode.
  • If you do not have the book in hand, open the patron’s Holds list, open the Hold Request screen by clicking on the title, then click History to copy and paste the barcode.
  • Scan the item barcode in Check In.
  • Verify patron’s name.
  • Select No because you do not want to continue to hold the item.
  • If a hold for another patron comes up, select Yes to fill hold.

3. Change Pickup Branch for Held Holds:

  • Open Patron Record, then Holds.
  • Open the item’s Hold Record.
    • If the item is at your branch, pull the item off the shelf.
    • If the item is at another branch, call and ask them to pull the item off the shelf.
  • Go to Hold Request: Details
  • Change the Pickup location and click Save.
  • Scan the item in Check In to generate new slip.
  • Select Yes to hold/transit for patron.
     

4. Suspend Held Holds and keep their place in line:

5. Cancel Shipped Items:

  • Open Patron Record and Holds.
  • Select box next to the shipped hold.
  • Select Cancel.
     

6. Change Pickup Branch for Shipped Holds:

  • Open Patron Record and Holds.
  • Select the hold record.
  • Select Details from the Hold Request screen.
  • Change the Pickup location and click Save.
  • When item arrives at the initial Pickup branch, it will trigger a new transit slip to the new Pickup branch.
