FCPS has set up a public-facing web page where STUDENT issues with FCPS laptops on FCPL wifi can be reported.

https://itweb.fcps.edu/itsupport/student - Please note this page is for students only

Please note that this page requires the student's name and student ID. Therefore, staff are advised not to fill out the form for the student, but rather to share the URL and suggest the student use their cellphone, if they have one, to submit the ticket. If using a cellphone is not an option, please assist them in logging in to a public PC to submit this form.

Tips

  • The student can try connecting their laptop to a Wi-Fi Hotspot from an available Connect Kit first, so the student can get to the FCPL Terms & Agreement Page and then connect to FCPL Wi-Fi. The direct URL is https://portal.mist.com.  Tip from Michelle Pepino (TY). Thank you, Michelle!

  • For FCPS teachers having trouble connecting to FCPL wifi, here is an update from Joanna Cole (SH). Thank you, Joanna!

"I just heard a tip from a FCPS teacher for getting around teachers laptops not being able to connect to our WiFi. She said to "paste the URL into the Edge browser." For the teacher laptops, our pop-up page opens in Chrome but doesn't load properly. However, copying the URL into the Edge browser will load the authentication page. The teacher that suggested this, said it works for her at every public place she's tried with the pop-up authentication--Starbucks, airports, etc. The teacher that just tried this workaround, gave it two thumbs up."

You no longer need to send information to Margaret Kositch in Lib-IT for submission to FCPS.
