Microsoft Power Apps on Mobile Devices
These instructions will help you install Microsoft Power Apps on your Apple iOS or Android mobile device. The library and county has developed several Power Apps for staff to use. One example is the Daily Health Check used during the COVID pandemic. The Power Apps mobile app provides easy access to these apps from your smartphone or tablet.
Installing the app
Make sure your device is up-to-date and running the latest version of the OS.
On your mobile device open your app store, search for Power Apps, and install the app.
- Apple iOS: App Store
- Android: Play Store
On First Open
When you first open the app, BEFORE you sign in, there is a Setting that must be updated first.
On the bottom right of the screen there will be a gear icon. Press that. Then press Regional Settings.
On the next screen, select the drop down menu and select US Government GCC. Then select OK.
Signing In
After you have selected the Regional Settings you can now sign in with your Fairfax County email and password. This should look similar to how you have logged into other apps, for example Outlook. You may need to use the Microsoft Authenticator App to finish sign-in with a verification code. If the Authenticator app is installed on the same device you installed Power Apps it may direct you there automatically.
The app may display a pop up that says the organization is now protecting your data and needs to restart. This is normal. Reopen the app.
All done. You should see a list of available Power Apps.
Power Apps may also be accessed from any browser here and then select Apps from the left side menu.
