There are different types of direct links you can make to the public catalog, also known as "deep" linking.
Full display of a single title
If you have the Bibliographic record control number, you can link to the full, detailed PAC display. In the example below the control number is highlighted in red; substitute any Bibliographic control number you'd like.
https://fcplcat.fairfaxcounty.gov/search/title.aspx?pos=1&page=0&cn=556221
Results display of multiple titles or formats
To highlight multiple Bibliographic records, you can link to the PAC results display using multiple control numbers. In the example below four control numbers are highlighted in red and separated by commas; substitute any Bibliographic control numbers you'd like, just be sure to insert commas between them.
https://fcplcat.fairfaxcounty.gov/view.aspx?cn=6175,112127,331786,358410
This syntax is useful for indicating the library offers a single title across multiple formats. It's also useful if you have a handful of different titles you want to point to using a single link.
Results display of a record set
To share a list of all the records in a Bibliographic record set, you can use the Record Set ID number. In the example below the Record Set ID is highlighted in red; substitute any Bibliographic Record Set ID you'd like.

The contents of a particular record set may changes over time, but the link will yield the current version of the record set. (Caution: this syntax only works for bibliographic record sets, not Item record sets.)
Results based on keywords or phrases
To create a more general, open-ended link to catalog search results, you can use various combinations of keyword and phrase searching. In the example below the actual search terms are highlighted in red; substitute as you'd like.
Any keywords

Author keyword

Author exact phrase
https://fcplcat.fairfaxcounty.gov/view.aspx?author=Kendi+Ibram&type=phrase
Title keyword
https://fcplcat.fairfaxcounty.gov/view.aspx?title=adorable
Subject keyword
https://fcplcat.fairfaxcounty.gov/view.aspx?subject=vacations+fiction
Subject exact phrase
https://fcplcat.fairfaxcounty.gov/view.aspx?subject=cover+letters&type=phrase
Happy linking!
