You will have great luck in finding young adult fiction by historical period if you use NoveList, an electronic resource offered by FCPL.  You can access the NoveList database through the catalog from the NoveList bibliographic record that has a link to or from the Library website by following the ReadersLink, then Find Your Next Book, and then selecting NoveList.  Once in NoveList, you can specify age group, fiction, type of fiction and, finally, historical period.

If you prefer to consult a print source, America as story : historical fiction for middle and secondary schools by Rosemary K. Coffey, a 1997 title, is available at eight of our branches in the reference collection.

Too, don't hesitate to inquire of the information services staff when visiting your branch.

I trust this reply addresses your question.

  1. Another resource is the Historical Novels website at .

    "Over 5000 Historical Novels
    Listed by Time and Place--
    Including more than 400 Reviews"

Users can search by era, continent, author, etc. In most sections, there's a link to Young Adult titles.
