It can be done on the Library Catalog website and here is how:

Customers can choose to suspend holds to prevent items from becoming available. Suspended hold maintains their position in line based on when they were created.  The process to suspend a hold is the same as it is to reactivate a hold.

To suspend a hold, log into the library catalog, and navigate to your list of holds.

Check the box next to the title and select Suspend/Reactivate Hold in the middle of the screen.

Enter a future date to suspend the hold until that time or choose today's date to activate it immediately.

You will be notified if the hold has been deactivated or reactivated.

The item will now show its current status in your Holds screen.  If it is "Inactive" the item has been suspended.  If it is "Active" the item has been unsuspended.
