Active hold requests for an item can be suspended online or by contacting any library branch. While a request is suspended, you keep your place in the queue for the item and allow others behind you in the queue to receive their request. Visit All About Holds for more information about placing and managing holds.

While the library offers automatic renewal of items, consider renewing materials prior to any planned absence to prevent fees. Most materials may be renewed up to three times. Material may not be renewed if there are more holds placed than copies available.

Renew online, through the 24-hour renewal line 703-324-9595, or by calling any library branch for assistance.
