While the library offers automatic renewal of items, consider renewing materials prior to any planned absence to prevent unplanned fees. Most materials may be renewed up to three times. Material may not be renewed if there are more holds placed than copies available.

Also consider suspending active hold requests online or by contacting any library branch. While a request is suspended, you keep your place in the queue for the item and allow others behind you in the queue to receive their request for the item.
