You may suggest titles for purchase through our library catalog via an online form.

The Fairfax County Public Library welcomes suggestions for books and other items that readers would like added to our collection, and we buy suggested items as funding, availability and other factors allow.

Because we get over 500 requests for different titles each month, we regret that we cannot place holds on requested titles as they are ordered, or respond individually to each request. Please check the catalog after three weeks to see if the item you suggested has been ordered.

The factors we consider when deciding whether to buy items our customers recommend include how much use similar items receive now; how much use the suggested item might receive; its cost, our budget and whether or not the item is still available for purchase. While all suggestions are considered, not all requests can be fulfilled.

We may be able to borrow the item for you from another library system through our interlibrary loan service. For more information about this service, ask at the information desk at any of our library branches.
