A book has a large number of holds. Will the library order more copies?

To balance our efforts to provide materials in a timely matter and purchase a variety of materials for our customers, the library employs a holds to copy ratio of 6:1. This means that anytime the number of holds is more than 6 times greater than the number of copies we will order more to fill the demand.
